Honey Soap with Hops

Honey soap is a little extra special. Honey and Hops uses Backyard Bees Honey with olive enriched with New York State hops. Now THAT is special!

Why make a honey soap?

Honey in soap is the equivalent to “kicking it up a notch.” Honey is a natural antibacterial and humectant. Plus, Cleopatra used it on her face and in her milk and honey baths!

We love to eat honey and we definitely want the bees to have enough too, so we don’t make ALL of our soaps with honey.

Honey and Hops makes us think of a golden fall day, with a rich lather and a fresh sweet scent. The bar is infused with a crisp blend of dried hops from upstate NY, and makes a great change of season soap.

We used a spicy local brew from Bridge & Tunnel Brewery in Ridgewood Queen in place of the water for this small batch and our final product is absolutely delicious!

Fascinating fact about the power of plants – hops produce a natural mite repellent! Mites are one of the causes that bees are under stress  and we don’t need that! Cheers to hops and to the bees!
